CODE
of CONDUCT COACHES
- Lead Coaches are responsible for the actions of all other adults
within their session.
- Lead Coaches must ensure that all activities are appropriate to
the age, ability and experience of those taking part.
- Coaches are required to show respect to all players, other
coaches and committee members.
- All Coaches are expected to display consistently high standards
of conduct and appearance.
- Lead Coaches are required to ensure that all players adhere to
the Players’ code of conduct and that high standards of behaviour
and appearance are maintained at all times.
- Lead Coaches must notify the chair of any concerns about a
players’ behaviour immediately the session has ended.
- It is the Lead Coaches' responsibility to ensure that a register
is kept of all players attending every session.
- It is the Lead Coaches’ responsibility to review the Risk
assessment before every session.
- Lead Coaches to notify the committee if a Team / Squad player
misses 3 sessions without giving a reason.
- All Coaches are reminded of the necessity of operating within
the Badminton England Child Protection guidelines at all times. (See
B/E website)
- In the event of any accident or injury, Coaches are requested to
complete the accident book and to request that a responsible adult
counter-sign the book upon collecting the injured player.
- Only County Club sessions are 'open-access'. Coaches of other
sessions are requested to direct any prospective players to their
local county club session.
- Coaches are requested to record any monies received on their
register and pass to the treasurer as soon as possible.
- County Club Assistant Coaches are responsible for collecting
fees, completing the register and ensuring that every player has
completed a personal details form before a player enters each
session.
- Players may be recommended for 'promotion' to the next tier of
training at committee meetings. Lead coaches must bring a list of
the proposed players to each committee meeting.
- Assistant Coaches must notify their Lead Coach if unable to
attend a session. Lead Coaches should notify the chair or secretary
who will endeavour to find a replacement.
- If sessions have to be cancelled, it is the Lead Coaches’
responsibility to notify every player and the chair or secretary
immediately (i.e. before the date the session was due to be held).
- All Coaches must have a current CRB check - see B/E website for
forms - DSBA will pay fee.
- All Coaches must hold a current B/E registration.
- All Coaches are required to hold a current First Aid
certificate.
- All Coaches are required to attend their Age Group Tournament.
- Coaches are required to ensure that no unauthorised photography
or filming takes place during sessions or matches.
- Coaches are required to attend a minimum of 3 committee meetings
a year.
